Solent Rescue 2 has almost completed her refit. The tubes have been spruced up with material supplied by Kayospruce in Fareham. The rubbing strake and glues by Technix rubber and plastics.  The crews have been working hard to get the boat finished. They have most of the electronics fitted that have kindly been donated by local firm Navimo UK who supplied a GPS system & VHF radio.  

We would like to thank all the contributors to the project who are the following: East Coast Fibreglass Supplies with  Fibreglass repair equipment, Quaywest Marine a VHF Aerial, Ocean Safety Flare kits, West Point Marine Navigation Lights, Boat Electrical Switch Panel, ONUS Technologies Blue Lights for the boat, Heskins Anti slip Tape, All Gadgets Marine a fish finder/depth gauge, Fire Protection Online for the fire extinguishers, Safelincs for fire fighting equipment, Jeppesen marine for the GPS Charts, Shop4Gerber for the rescue knifes.

We hope to have SR2 in the water if all goes well by the end of September for sea trials and training of the crews.  This will enable us to offer a better service to the visitors to Lepe Country Park and the Western Solent.
