News Activity Log John Lewis Charity Challenge

Solent Rescue - Independent Lifeboat Rescue Organisation

On Thursday the 25th of March, Solent Rescue were more than happy to help John Lewis with their nationwide charity baton challenge in aid of Beating Bowel Cancer.

We proceeded to Universal Marina were  upon we picked up the holder (Kirsty).

We also took along a few other partners in the support vessel which was kindly laid on by Seadogz Rib Charter.

In rather miserable, some may say icey weather conditions, we made it round to the base of the Spinnaker tower with all safe and well.

Well done all at John Lewis for supporting such a worthy cause, and well done to Kirsty who was pretty well soaked through by the time we arrived.

Everyone at JLS would like to say a huge Thank you to Solent Rescue. The very generous crew took the day off work, not to mention donating the cost of petrol for the two ribs, (boats) to help out. Special thanks to the lifeboat crew Senior Coxswain Ian Blomquist, Sponsor/Donations Manager Cameron Critchfield and ex JLS Partner Trevor Keith. On the 'Seadogz' rib were Micky Howley, Damo Eagan and Andy Walker and retired Partner Kate Walker who said “'The trip was achieved in record time in atrocious weather.”
