Pan Pan 100 metres west of Gurnard cardinal buoy.

14:00 - Solent Rescue tasked by Solent Coastguard to a 24ft sailing vessel that had lost all propulsion, steering and power in moderate seas 100m west of Gurnard Northern Cardinal Buoy.  4 PERSONS ONBOARD.

14:05 - Solent Rescue one afloat and making best speed to last known position.

14:06 - Raised vessel on Channel 67 to gain an updated position.

14:10 - On scene, sit-rep to follow.

14:12 - Suspected rope around prop identified.

14:13 - Along side tow agreed upon and springs set.

14:15 - Informed by CG that Cowes Lifeboat would be with us in approximately 4 minutes.

14:15 - Tow underway.

14:19 - Cowes lifeboat on scene and agreed to shadow Solent Rescue 1 to ensure a clear path into Cowes could be achieved through shepherding away other vessels.

14:35 - Vessel placed alongside quay agreed upon with Cowes harbour master.

14:36 - Solent Rescue further investigation concluded engine failure was caused by rope around prop.

14:40 - Prop freed.

14:45 - Engine tested and gearing engaged.

14:50 - Vessel proceeded under own power down the medina to its overnight scheduled berth.

14:55 - Solent Rescue One released to resume patrol.
