Solent Rescue 1 spots vessel running aground on Lepe spit.

15:45 - Whilst training off Lepe spit Solent Rescue one spots a 26ft sailing yacht that had run aground on the afore mentioned submerged obstacle.

15:47 - On scene.

15:48 - With skippers approval an attempt to pull the vessel free was initiated.

16:00 - Vessel hard aground, decision taken, to prevent any damage to casualty, a ketch anchor would be set and the vessel would come off on its on accord at the next rising of the tide. All persons on board happy to stay with craft and had plenty of provisions to see them through.

16:05 - Solent Rescue 1 departed scene, crew of yacht happily took this time to complete some opportunistic hull cleaning.

17:30 - Crew of Solent Rescue walked out to vessel to check that all was well. All found in good spirit and were making the most of the break in their journey.
