Solent Rescue Needs You...!

Solent Rescue is crewed by volunteers from across hampshire.

We offer hands on training in safety at sea, power boat operation, first aid and all activities required to keep an operational lifeboat and lookout manned.

Volunteers, both male and female must be over the age of 18 years to crew the inshore vessel.

We are looking for volunteers either to join the boat or ground crew, as well as fundraisers.

Operational weekends are from March through October/November, bank holidays and the Cowes week festival.

As well as the boat crew, the unit is manned by shore operators who launch and recover the lifeboat. Everyone is responsible for assisting in maintaining the launching equipment and boathouse facilities.

Knowledge of seamanship is useful, but not essential as excellent training is offered.

From the day you join the crew, you will be involved in the operations of the boat & shore activities.

If you are interested in joining then feel free to drop in at the Solent Rescue Lookout on Saturdays or Sundays (from 10am to 5pm), or alternatively fill in our volunteer request form to join Solent Rescue!
